Do you design Lincoln Park greystones?

Yes. Greystone and brownstone renovations are among our most common Lincoln Park projects, including kitchens, baths, and whole-home work that preserves original millwork, mantels, and detail.

Can you design a Lincoln Park new construction home?

Yes. We work with your builder and architect from early drawings so millwork, lighting, cabinetry, and finishes are planned before framing closes up.

What should I plan for in a Lincoln Park renovation?

Narrow stairs and tight landings limit furniture delivery, existing plumbing stacks make relocating baths costly, and landmark district rules can govern exterior work. All of it is manageable when planned early.

Interior Designer in Lake Forest, IL

Sarah Jacquelyn Interiors is an award-winning interior designer serving Lake Forest, IL. The firm designs estate and historic home renovations, kitchens and primary suites, custom paneling and millwork, formal entertaining spaces, and full-home furnishing, coordinating with architects, builders, and preservation review across Lake Forest’s established neighborhoods.

Interior Design for Lake Forest Homes

Lake Forest is defined by scale and history. Estate properties, English Tudors, Colonial Revivals, and early twentieth-century architecture sit on large wooded lots, many within areas subject to historic preservation review.

Design work in homes like these is about proportion above all. Furniture that would fill a city living room disappears in a Lake Forest room. Ceiling height, window scale, and long sightlines demand larger pieces, taller art, custom drapery, and rugs sized correctly, or the room reads as underfurnished no matter how expensive the contents.

Scale, Detail, and Restraint

Our award-winning work has been recognized for Dining Room Design, Custom Detail in Millwork, Custom Textile, and Specialty Framing, which is precisely the vocabulary of a well-designed Lake Forest home: paneling that fits the architecture, textiles with depth, art framed and hung properly, and rooms that feel composed rather than decorated.

Layering color, texture, and pattern is what we are known for, and in large formal rooms that layering is what keeps scale from becoming coldness.

Planning a Lake Forest Renovation

Historic preservation review can apply to exterior work in parts of Lake Forest, and estate properties frequently involve architects, landscape designers, and specialty trades working in parallel. Long custom lead times on cabinetry, upholstery, and drapery mean selections should begin months before installation. We coordinate the full team and hold the schedule together so the house finishes as one project rather than several.

Yes. We work as part of the project team, deliver drawings and schedules on their timeline, and keep selections ahead of construction deadlines.
For a full renovation or whole-home furnishing, start selections several months before installation. Custom cabinetry, upholstery, and drapery carry the longest lead times of anything in the project.
